A Little news:
Noon, Saturday 13th July saw nearly 30 interested people of all ages enjoying lunch in the parish hall. Among the tasty dishes on the table were wonderful sandwiches and squares from Carp Bakery, and some sensational flavoured scones from Rocket Scone, another local small enterprise.
Gillian Mattock welcomed everyone and went on to outline the mission of this programme. She also spoke enthusiastically about each of the six activities planned for the next 6 months, everyone found it engaging and interesting. Gillian invited us to provide our contact information if we were interested in being a volunteer, or a guest, or if we knew of a friend or acquaintance who might enjoy taking part.
This being the middle of the summer, a few people who had expressed interest could not make the July date, so another, smaller lunch date has been arranged.
I cordially invite volunteers and interested community members, who could not attend the inaugural lunch in July, to join me for lunch on the 17th August.
I will introduce this programme for the coming year, and you could see if there is anything you would be interested in volunteering on, or just participating in. There is no financial cost whatever.
I expect we will be finished at 1.00pm.
