Shrove Tuesday
Join in from 5pm – 7pm on Tuesday February 9th at the Anglican Parish Hall for our Annual Pancake Supper. Dinner is pay-what-you-can and all are invited for some yummy comfort food!
Ash Wednesday
We have three different opportunities for you to begin your Lenten Season:
10am – Ash Wednesday Service at St. James
4 – 6:50 – Ashes to Go Drop In (drop in anytime for a short prayer and imposition of ashes)
7pm – Ash Wednesday Service at St. James
Understanding the Season of Lent
The season of Lent recalls the forty days spent by Jesus in the desert fasting and praying. For Christians it is a season when we take time to consider our own feelings of personal wilderness and struggle. During Lent many people consider consciously reflecting on their faith by taking on a discipline such as increased prayer, study or worship. Others decide to remove something from their lives that’s absence may cause them to pause and consider their faith whenever it is being denied (such as coffee or dessert).
Lent is always an opportunity for anyone to consider whether they are being invited into a faith journey or being asked to strengthen or rekindle a journey that has already begun.

Lent One ~ February 14th ~ 9am at Christ Church and 10:30am at St. James
Lent Two ~ February 21st ~ 9am and 10:30am at St. James

Lent Four ~ March 6th ~ 10:30am at St. James (Followed by the Parish Annual General Meeting & Potluck Lunch)
Lent Five ~ March 13th ~ 9am at Christ Church and 10:30am at St. James
Five Week Lent Study
This year’s Lent study is a wonderful video & discussion course created by The Work of the People. Find out more on our ‘Called to Community’ Lent Study Page.
Evenings will include a time of fellowship, snacks, and conversation. The study takes place at the Parish Hall (3774 Carp Road) on Wednesday Nights starting Wednesday, February 17th. Evenings will run from 7pm – 9pm.
No Experience needed and all are welcome!
