Announcement: Blessing of the Animals to take place at the Carp Farmers Market ~ October 1st

The Anglican Parish of Huntley is pleased to announce that the annual Blessing of the Pets will take place at the Carp Farmers Market on Saturday, October 1st from 10am to 1pm.

Pets of all shapes and sizes are invited to come to visit the Rev. Monique between 10am and 1pm at the Market. Blessings will only take a couple of minutes (extra time provided for dogs who are confessing) and are done on a first come first serve basis.

Animals of all faith traditions and beliefs are welcome.

The Blessing of the Pets is a tradition that takes place in various church communities in celebration of the Feast Day of St Francis of Assisi, the Patron Saint of animals.

St. Francis could be considered one of the first environmentalists. He encouraged all to consider themselves to be but one part of creation and continuously reminded humanity to humbly recognize their role as stewards of the earth and animals of all shapes and sizes.
